Ownership

Afriso Ema is part of the Afriso Group and is a limited liability company owned by Afriso- Werk Georg Fritz GmbH & Co KG. Afriso is a family owned company founded in 1869, and is now being run by its fourth generation.
Ema Instrument was founded in 1971 by Hans Sigstedt. Afriso has been a shareholder since 1976. In 1984 EMA bought Svensk Nivåkontroll, a company specialising in tanker trucks and depot equipment. In 1995 Afriso took over 100% of the shares.

History

At EMA we have been working under the motto “For cleaner air, soil and water” for over 40 years. We develop solutions for the safe handling of explosive and toxic products. Our customers come from industrial, defence, municipal and state enterprises. Experience and knowledge are the key words in our business. EMA was founded in 1971 and the foundation stone of our business was the new law on electrical overfill protection. The product range was expanded when Afriso Euro Index became a partner in 1976. When EMA bought Svensk Nivåkontroll in 1984, the company acquired its own production, which also included overfill protection components for tanker trucks.
Right from the start, EMA’s sales primarily consisted of proprietary products. Today, these products account for about 60 % of turnover of which about 30 % is exported. All manufacturing is now outsourced to subcontractors. Our experience is that a good environment and safe workplaces boost productivity and thereby profitability.

Staff

We currently have 13 employees, six of whom work in sales and marketing along with two in technical support and service.
